Proboscis Monkeys are not monkeys love swinging on trees. They do not eat ripe bananas. And they have a foot that has a membrane.

This monkey has a prominent nose. Proboscis Monkeys lives on the island of Borneo! It may seem hard to believe, but the male proboscis monkey using fleshy, they use their noses to attract a partner because it strengthens the call monkeys because it is intimidating rival.

Proboscis Monkey is endemic to the jungles of Borneo, is never far from the rivers islands, coastal mangrove forests, and swamps. They live in groups and organized consisting of dominant men and 2-7 women and their children.

Malaysian Government to prepare a place for the celebration of the magnificent tourism - Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) in 2014, the state's commitment to protect the ecological treasures and in particular, the conservation of many native animals provide an opportunity to share with the world a lot of interesting creatures that are often hidden from the general public.

Malaysia has decided upon one of the most endangered of animals listed in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s Red List of Threatened Species - the Proboscis Monkey as the official mascot for Visit Malaysia Year 2014.

Among the largest of Asia’s monkeys, male proboscis specimens can reach 50 pounds, although females only grow to about half that size. Adults wear a coat of light brown fur that turns red around the head and shoulders and gray at the arms, legs, and tail. Only males develop the namesake nose.

VMY 2014 is a perfect time to get up close with proboscis monkeys at the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries such as Bako National Park, Klias National Park, Kulamba Wildlife Reserve,  Samunsam River Wildlife Sanctuary and Bay Hole Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary.
