Taroko National Park
Taiwan, one of four dragon of Asia, was known as Formosa which in Portuguese means "beautiful". The mountainous island and its culture influenced by the cultures of China, Japan and Europe make this country unique. The following are some of the prime tourist destination of the country:

Taroko National Park

There are seven national parks in Taiwan, and the most popular is the Taroko National Park. Built in December 1937, this park was originally named Tsugitaka, when Taiwan was still part of the Japanese empire. After World War II, China took over Taiwan and the park was rebuilt in November 1986.

Taroko National Park Taroko gorge is famous for, namely marble stone wall that formed due to erosion caused by the river Liwu. About 200 million years ago is still a stone wall sediments on the seabed. Collection of sediment is then transformed into limestone, and because of the pressure caused by tekntonik plate and the Philippine Sea plate Eurosian, limestone was gradually transformed into marble and sticking to the surface of the sea.

Another great feature is the presence of Taroko gorge content of jade there. The only type of jade found in Taiwan and supplied to the jade market in the city of Hualien.

Taroko National Park covering an area of 920 km2, is a masterpiece that is a very fascinating experience for both travelers want any five star backpackers. Rock tunnels, waterfalls, hiking trails, and biking trails are some attraction that can be enjoyed there. Located in Hualien, Taroko National Park can be reached within a few hours from the city of Taipei.

Sun Moon Lake

Sun Moon Lake is the largest lake in Taiwan are located in Yuchi, Nantou. Nantou itself is home to a native of Taiwan, the Thao tribe.

With an area of about 7.93 km2 and a depth of about 27 meters, the lake is a lake with mountains in the surrounding sights. Greenish clear water lake, in the early morning is always shrouded by haze. Then there is the island, a small island that divides the lake is such that the eastern part is round like the sun and the western part is shaped like a crescent moon. From there the lake was named Sun Moon Lake (Sun Moon Lake).

All around the lake there is a climbing lane for lovers of hiking. Travelers can also enjoy the scenery around the lake with a cycling around the lake or explore the lake by boat. While swimming is not allowed there.

Every year several festivals held in Sun Moon lake, of which the festival fireworks, laser light shows, and music concerts.

Sun Moon Lake is an ideal tourist destination for tourists who want to relax while enjoying the quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium National
The museum is located in Checheng, Pingtung opened in February 2000. With an area of approximately 96 hectares, the museum is equipped with a water park around which is the largest water park in Taiwan.

There are three main parts in there, namely:
  1. Aquatic Taiwan featuring waterfalls, river habitat, and reservoir to see the animals
  2. Reef Royal Pavilion featuring a variety of coral reef habitats from shallow water to deep ocean
  3. Pavilion display a World Aquatic ancient Precambrian oceans and ocean formation, as well as the history of the oceans since hundreds of years ago to the present.
In addition to having all the underwater tunnel 81 meters (longest in Asia), Museum of Marine Biology and the National Aquarium also has several research facilities. In collaboration with NASA, the museum is working on a project to monitor air quality in the South China Sea region.

Shilin Night Market

Shilin Night Market is the largest and most popular night market in Taiwan. Located in the Shilin district of Taipei, near the former location of the river dock Khilung, night market was built with a growing number of actors in the agricultural trade there.

Shilin Night Market is divided into two parts, the first part of which is housed in an old building Shilin market where many small food vendors and restaurants; and a section that sells non-food items. There is a food court that houses 539 shops, while the second floor serves as a parking lot that can accommodate 400 cars. Along the way lined the street vendors. There are also theaters, video games, karaoke, furniture stores, clothing stores, pet stores, and much more.

Famous Shilin night market with delicious dishes nan operation since 4pm till 2am every day, with peak crowds around 8 to 11 pm. Due to the proximity to several schools, the most visitors in a night market are students.

  1. It's great that you mention the Shilin Night market, I think not enough visitors understand that this is the place to get real local food and enjoy the atmosphere of traditional Taiwan!
