Fantastic Story of the Bamboo Curtain Country Glory

China, the country with the highest population in the world is made up of diverse ethnic groups, cultural values and remarkable history. Hundreds glory years of the dynasty has enriched the historical trail in the bamboo curtain country. Here are some sites with fantastic stories that you can find there:

Wall of China

Great Wall of China (Great Wall of China) is a series of forts built in several periods, from about the 5th century BC to 16th century AD. The 6,400 km long wall built to protect the Northern limits of the Chinese empire nomadic intruders.
There are four main sections of the Wall of China, namely:
  1. Walls were built during the Qin dynasty
  2. Walls were built during the Han Dynasty
  3. Walls were built during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdom
  4. Walls were built during the Hongwu Emperor until Wanli Emperor of the Ming dynasty
In early development, namely the reign of the Qin dynasty, the material used is clay, stone and wood. Later in the Ming Dynasty bricks, lime, stone and new flooring put into use. Unfortunately, many parts of the Wall of China damaged by erosion caused by sand storms and vandalism.
Most of the rest of the Chinese Wall that exists today is the wall built during the Ming Dynasty. Preserved for the benefit of tourism while maintaining the historical heritage of this country's bamboo curtain.

The Forbidden City

Located in the city center of Beijing, the Forbidden City (The Forbidden City) was once the palace of the Ming dynasty residence until the Qing dynasty for almost 600 years, as well as the political center of Chinese government.

The Forbidden City was built in 1406 to 1420, consists of 980 buildings on an area of 72 acres with traditional Chinese architectural style palace is fenced by walls as high as 7.9 meters. Ancient wooden high value, large marble and brick "gold" made specifically for the building, and surrounded by three parks, the complex is amazingly beautiful and majestic.

In 1987 the place became silent witness to the history of 24 emperors (14 emperors of the Ming dynasty and 10 emperors of the Qing dynasty) was officially declared a world heritage site by UNESCO and currently serves as a museum of the Palace.

Yuyuan garden

Di Ren Jie, Shanghai, there is a park named Yu Yuan. Built on an area of 5 acres by Pan Yunduan, a government official in the Ming Dynasty. He presented it to his parents garden as a place to enjoy the tranquility in their old age.
Although not as extensive, the park's beautiful because it has a pavilion, pool, and patio stones with unique characteristics. Is the Exquisite Jade Rock (Jade Beautiful), which became the most valuable treasure in this park. 3.3 meters high, has 72 holes on all sides. If there is a lit incense at the bottom of the stone, incense smoke will drift out of the 72nd hole. It was an awesome sight.
Past the age of 400 years, Yuyuan garden to experience a variety of events. Most memorable events was when the park was heavily damaged by the Opium wars in the 19th century. Parks, who still can be enjoyed is the result of a five-year restoration that began in 1956. Garden was opened to the public since September 1961.

Temple of Heaven

Temple of Heaven (The Temple of Heaven) is a complex of Taoist school building located in the center of Beijing. So named because in ancient China, the emperor of China who is regarded as the Son of Heaven often prayed to heaven to beg in harvest success.

The temple complex was built in 1406 until 1420 during the reign of Emperor Yongle. In the 16th century, the temple was expanded and named the Temple of Heaven in the reign of the Jiajing Emperor also built three other temples, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of Earth and Temple of the Moon.

Had made the army command headquarters for one year at the time of the Boxer rebellion, the Temple of Heaven was slowly damaged and destroyed with the fall of the Qing dynasty. Not a few artifacts were stolen from there. In 1914, the president of the Republic of China Yuan Shikai prayer there as part of its attempt to declare himself emperor of China.

In 1918 the temple was converted into a park that is open to the public, later crowned as world heritage site by UNESCO in 1998.
